DAP

The Dust, Atmosphere and Plasma environment of the Moon and Small Bodies (DAP-2017) workshop was a forum to (i) discuss our current understanding of the surface environment of the Moon, the moons of Mars, and asteroids, (ii) share new results from past and ongoing missions to airless bodies and comets, and (iii) describe expectations for planned upcoming missions to airless bodies and comets.

The 2017 workshop was held in Boulder and hosted by LASP on January 11th-13th. It focused on open science questions, the status and future of our supporting modeling and laboratory experimental capabilities, and the definition of the required measurements and instrument capabilities for future investigations from orbit or landed missions.

DAP-2017 was a follow up on two previous workshops, LDAP-2010 and DAP-2012. Contributions to LDAP-2010 and DAP-2012 were published in special issues of Planetary and Space Sciences.

PSS Special Issue

Our request for a Special Issue in Planetary and Space Sciences (PSS) has been formally approved. The online forms will be available starting April 1, and the deadline for submitting a manuscript is June 30, 2017. In addition to the DAP-2017 participants, we are also extending an invitation to the larger lunar, planetary, and space science communities to submit papers to this special issue on subjects related to DAP-2017.
